On Friday, November 29, 2019, Donn J. Schlotec, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 72 after a long and courageous battle with dementia. Donn was born on August 19, 1947, in Virginia, MN. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen (Rogers) Schlotec in 1968. Donn received his electrical engineering degree from Michigan Technological University and his Master of Business Administration. He and Kathy had two children: Bee (Dawn Marie) and Joby. 

Donn loved the outdoors. He took his family fishing and camping on his favorite lakes: Crane, Sand Point, Namakan and Lac La Croix. He taught them all to ski and scuba dive, flew them in his float plane, and took them on many awesome adventures. He was the dad who took all the kids tubing and waterskiing behind the boat. Donn had a great sense of humor and could possibly eat more than any other human. He lived life very fully, following the motto “work hard, play hard.” His legacy lives on in the adventures, appetites, and jokes of his children and grandchildren.
