David Joseph Chiarello Jr., age 71 of Hermantown MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 17th, 2019. He was born on October 7th, 1947 to David Sr. and Sophie Chiarello in Virginia MN. 

David grew up in Virginia MN and was an outstanding athlete and leader in Track, Basketball and Football. After attending Roosevelt high school, he graduated from University of Minnesota- Duluth with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Education. 

Preceding him in death are is father David Sr.; mother Sophie and David Sr. and sister, Kathy McLaughlin. 

In 1986, David married the love of his life, Kathryn. Wife, Kathryn, sons David (Marilyn), Nicholas, and brother-in-law, Ron McLaughlin, survive him. 

David retired after a successful career with Inland Steel/ArcelorMittal. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and all his wonderful friends who called him Gorgo. He was a ‘big teddy bear' of a man who always made people feel warm and welcomed. 

David was a devoted and loving husband and father. He led life selflessly and was a generous friend, known for his great sense of humor, joyous laugh, and kind smile! He will be greatly missed!
