Blaine Martinson VIEW PROFILE

Blaine Martinson, 54, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away suddenly on March 13, 2002.

He was born in Virginia on June 8, 1947. He graduated from Virginia High School in 1965 and had a prolific athletic career as a Blue Devil. He was a member of the Conference Champion 1965 football team, co-captain of the only Virginia baseball team to ever make the state tournament and a starting guard on the 1965 basketball team that advanced to the state tournament. Many remember his last second shot against Forest Lake in the regional semifinals that year.

Blaine and his family moved in 1982 to Phoenix, where Blaine was an orthopedic sales representative for 20 years. His love for athletics carried over into Arizona, where he coached many of his sons’ teams and played on hockey teams with both Brad and Ross.

Blaine was a generous, friendly and exceptionally kind man whose positive attitude and selflessness affected all who knew him. His personal touch with people and his genuine zest for life leave all with many loving memories.
