Eric John Norri Jr., of Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 17, 2026. He was born on February 23, 1947, in Virginia, to Eric Norri, Sr. and Katherine "Kay" (Mejasich) Norri.

Eric grew up in Virginia and graduated from Virginia High School in 1965. A standout athlete, he earned a football scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, where he proudly played on the Fighting Irish 1966 National Championship football team. He was also a member of Notre Dame's first varsity hockey team. Eric graduated from Notre Dame in 1969, treasuring his time there and carrying those memories throughout his life.

An avid outdoorsman, Eric felt most at home in the woods and on the water. During summers home from college, he guided on Lac La Croix, sharing his knowledge and love of walleye fishing. That lake remained close to his heart for decades, as he continued entertaining family and friends while pursuing lake trout and walleye. He treasured time at "The Shack," north of Orr-his home away from home for more than 35 years-and deeply enjoyed deer camp, hunting ruffed grouse, ducks, and geese. Being outdoors wasn't just a hobby for Eric; it was part of who he was.

Eric also enjoyed golfing and spent many hours on the course at the Eshquaguma Country Club, where friendships, laughter, and stories were as meaningful as the scorecard.

A lifelong entrepreneur, Eric owned and operated Norri Distributing and later W.A. Fisher Printing in Virginia before retiring. He was a skilled carpenter who built the home he lived in for more than fifty years, as well as the shack he cherished so deeply. His craftsmanship, independence, and strong work ethic were evident in everything he did.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Marquette Catholic School. Eric will be remembered for his deep love of family, his faith, his strong work ethic, his generosity, and the joy he found in simple moments spent outdoors.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia, with Rev. Fr. Brandon Moravitz as celebrant. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
