Richard A. “Dick” Grams, age 58 of Iron and formerly Virginia, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
He was born Oct. 1, 1947 in St. Paul, the son of Harold and Elsie (Glanville) Grams. Dick graduated from Roosevelt High School in Virginia in 1965. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.
On May 3, 1975, Dick married Karen Johnson in Virginia. The couple later moved to Iron, where they have resided ever since.
Dick was employed at Edward’s Oil for the past 30 years as a warehouse manager at their Hibbing plant.
His favorite place was the Minnesota Iron Range Retriever’s Club (MIRRC), where he was very active for many years as a lifetime member. He was a judge, a cook, a dog handler, and this year, served as its president.
Dick loved the outdoors, and enjoyed his goose and duck hunting trips to Lake of the Woods in Canada with his hunting buddies: Larry, Dan, Bob, Archie, and Joey, along with Spruce, his faithful companion.
Deer hunting at Cook Moose Lodge every year provided many scrumptious meals and many long-lasting memories.
