Tony was born May 19, 1947, in Virginia, to Joseph and Olga (Hobyan) Turk and was a longtime resident. Tony was a graduate of Virginia High School and the University of Minnesota-Duluth with degrees in speech, English and drama. He taught at Benilde-St. Margaret for two years prior to a 34-year career in Virginia. He was a talented English teacher who could reach his students, was active in drama productions and did some play writing. Tony was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, serving as a cantor and a reader, and singing in the church choir.
